Some Place Else

Due to the freshness and greenery it provides to the metropolis, it has been referred to as the “lungs of Kolkata”.

The Maidan is a vast 3km-Long Park that is today as fundamental to Kolkata. It’s like the central park in New York City. Right across the Victoria memorial it starts with the backdrop of the cityscape. I was having a conversation with a friend from Kolkata and he said that, “It is the only place in the city where people can go and breathe.”

Then I went to the Maidan and tried to photograph it, the way it felt like.
